Borneo Expedition

Following the fantastic success  of Allerton High’s two previous  expeditions with Camps International – to Kenya in 2011 and Ecuador in 2013, we are venturing to yet another new and exciting destination for Borneo 2015.

The month-long expedition will combine both: community and wildlife  project-work and amongst other things will include:

•Living as part of a small island community off the coast of Borneo

•Working on a range of projects, helping to improve living standards for rural people

•Taking part in a forest regeneration project to protect wildlife and the environment

•Wildlife viewing along the Kinabatangan River

•Visiting Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, helping  protect orangutan habitat.

•Training and certification opportunity for the PADI Open Water Diving Course

•Opportunity to gain 70 UCAS points on completion of the expedition

Interest has been high with a record 35 students signed up! Now the hard work begins as each student must  fundraise to cover the cost of their place.

Over the next 18 months the Team Borneo students will have a high presence around school from providing a refreshment service at evening events to selling their hand selected wares in our termly Borneo Marketplace. Any support that you may give towards this fundraising effort is greatly appreciated.

For Parents/Carers of students  taking part in the expedition:

We hope that you see this as we do as a joint venture between you and your sons and daughters and we thank you  in advance for your support.
