Core PE

Years 7 to 11

Students are offered a wide range of individual and team activities making use of our high quality facilities. During these activities they are given the opportunity to plan, perform, evaluate, make decision and lead others

Students are encouraged to develop a wide range of skills and abilities to use tactics, strategies and compositinal ideas to perform successfully.

PE develops students’ competence and confidence to take part in a range of physical activities that become a central part of their lives both in and out of school.

 

Key Stage 4

Year 9 - Gateway to Sport

This is an introduction to the study of Physical Education involving both practical and theory elements.

 

GCSE PE

Students will be assessed in three different sports (one individual, one team and another) as well the theoretical components of PE.

GCSE PE SPECIFICATION

 

Cambridge National: Sports Science

Students that choose to follow this course of study will do the following units

  • Factors which influence risk of injury
  • Applying Principles of Training
  • Sports Psychology
  • Sports Nutrition

SPORTS SCIENCE SPECIFICATION

 

Post 16

Cambridge Technical Level 3 Sport & Physical Activity

In order to achieve this qualification students will study 5 different units that will be assessed over the 2 year course.

Extra-Curricular

Allerton High School Staff along with external coaches offer a wide range of extra curricular sporting activities. Students can attend clubs for recreation or aim to play for one of the school teams in matches against other schools
